Projects

Below is a list of some recent projects that Schwartz Consulting has completed for its clients.
System Conversion needed ASAP

Schwartz Consulting has just completed a sucessful conversion of a legacy database system (FilePro) to Micrsoft Access. Our client approached us with a problem: Their current database system was installed on obsolete servers no longer supported by the manufacturer and the old database system needed to be upgraded to a Microsoft product.

The CFO was concerned that a failure in their current system would leave them open to negative audit findings or worse. Schwartz Consulting worked directly with the CFO and the internal database developer to build a new solution that closely matched the old system and included some new functionality. Bottom line is that Schwartz Consulting provided the solution to a Client's delima: Move a legacy system from old hardware and prevent the loss of historical data.

Custom software tools to reduce data entry time

An existing Schwartz client needed custom programming to interface a third party vendor program with their enterprise claim management system. Schwartz Consulting worked with the client to build an electronic bridge to connect the two systems then developed modules (stored proceedures) using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 to input the incoming data into the existing system (.NET application).

The time savings for the client have been substantial with over a 500% gain in efficiency by the reduction of redundent entry of the same data in multiple systems. Schwartz delivered the tool to save time and money to their client.

Modification of an existing Program

Schwartz Consulting was contacted by a small business owner who recently lost their in house programmer. This new client was frantic because the Access database he used to generate reports was not setup properly to allow end users to run reports and a new client was demanding their overdue financial statement.

Schwartz stepped in and built the necessary forms to allow the business owner and his team to run reports in a timely fashion for their clients. This new client was so excited about finding Schwartz that he called his friends and told his family members about having dependable programming a phone call away!

Costly PM time reduced through Reliability Analysis

A Fortune 50 corporation had a problem: the Preventative Maintenance (PM) traces by in house mechanics were greatly reducing their capacity to perform machine maintenance at one of their facilities. At the core of this problem was the "unknown" Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of each component in the trace equipment.

Schwartz developed a software application that not only computed the MTBF of these components reducing PM trace man-hours but accurately forcasted future inventory levels required to maintain the operation. The estimated savings for the operation has been projected at over $1 million per year. Schwartz generated huge savings for this huge operation.
