Meeting with potential clients?
The old adage you never get a second chance to make a good first impression still holds true. Here are some tips to make sure you make your first impression is a good one.
When you first meet your potential client listen carefully for their name and repeat it aloud if it is not clear to make sure that you have the correct pronunciation. Now, going forward in your conversation with the prospective client use their name repeatedly throughout the discussion. The reason for this is that a person’s name is the most wonderful sounding word to their ears and every time you repeat it you are building rapport with your new client.
Also, if there are more than one person in the room, you must get all of their names, at least first names, and communicate with each individual. You can't always tell who the most influential player may be.
